HATS OFF TO YOU !!!! Finally a smooth conversion from Rel 11 DXFs to
3ds. An ABSOLUTE GOLDEN UTILITY! I really mean it. I had been doing
all sorts of "through the hoop" tricks via lisps routines (CHBLOCK,
XPLODE, PROJECT, etc, etc) saving to FLM so on and so fourth, well
you know the bandage routine….
No sooner did I unZIP DXF3DS and spend all of 60secs skimming the
DXF3DSl.BAT file did I ZIP with lightning speed to attempt this
miracle TOOL on SHUTTLE.DXF (AUTODESK supplied sample with AUTOCAD
REL 11). Sure SURE it REPORTED that it found names to all LAYERS,
but did it R E A L L Y …….
YES !!!! Not only did it CREATE SUCCESSUFULLY seperate objects but
handled my WELDING, NORMALS, and ALLOWED me to specify % (35 by
default) for smoothness!!!!! I'm IMPRESSED !!!!!!!
I have a great need for this utility (as you may have noticed) and
GREATLY appreciate what I consider one of the most VALUBLE utilities
I have dld in A LONG TIME !!!!! THANKS !!!!!
YES! Finally, we get a response from one of the dozens of people who've
downloaded DXF3DS in the past few days. Thank YOU for the feedback, GH.
The real thanks has to go to Dan Silva, for spending the time to make sure
we did everything relating to conversion of DXF files perfectly. I will
forward a copy of your message to Dan right away.
