Ken,
I presume you're speaking of SoftVTR (List: $995). It seems
adequate to control decks for output only. Their software does not allow
capture from tape (triggering a Targa, for instance), nor are they likely
to have an ADI version to 3D Studio 2.0. They are capable of batch
processing images from disk to tape (load frame buffer, set output frame &
repeat). Of course, the hardware products are coming down in price
(Diaquest is now $2380 for the DQ422, and their optional Action Animator
software is also reduced), and are more capable. SoftVTR does seem to
support a very large selection of VTR's, though, and is likely a good
add-on for additional output stations.
