At the office we've several MS-Dos machines equipped with HP Scan-Jet's.
These work under GEM-Software by DR (Digital Research). Does anybody knows
how it could transfer these pictures created by GEM (scanned with the
Scan-Jet) to IFF? Or is any FDS available using the Scan-Jet on the AMIGA?
Any Help would be appreciated.

It seems that a company called Inset Systems might be your savior. They
make a program called Hijaak that will convert .IMG files to .IFF files.
If you have 3-1/2" drives on your PC's, you can read them with CrossDos –
all done.
They at one time made a package called Scanery for the Amiga, but I
think someone else took that over. Perhaps someone else here can shed some
light on Amiga support for the ScanJet…

There is a Computer Shopper type magazine that Mr. Bobo writes for. I
thought he wrote a piece that said HiJack would NOT do conversions to IFF
despite the ads that claim they do. I have no personal knowledge of this
software.

If Mr. Bobo makes this claim, he has not used the program correctly.
While I'll admit that it will not support HAM or extended modes (like AHAM,
IFF-24, etc…) it will do most other conversion without fail. I was using
this before ADPro came out (which does a better job for what it supports);
however, Mr. Bobo is wrong. I was using it every day for 6 months to
convert Postscript files to IFF Superbitmaps (monochrome). Now, I just use
POST.
