Glad to have you aboard here. If the newsletter is in ASCII format, why
not upload it to the libraries? In fact, I've been interested in seeing
some of the PD software that comes from outside of the US, so if you have
anything you'd like to upload, please do!

Hello Steve, The disk is not ascii but we airmail it around the world to
over 30 countries and clubs. Leave your address and I will see that you get

Though I doubt that it would be appropriate to subscribe (I'm in the USA) I
certainly would be interested in seeing a copy and maybe taking it to the
ASDF (Amiga Software Developers Forum).

Welcome to the Amiga Forums. We're delighted to have you. I'm sure that
my club would be delighted to exchange newsletters with you. The club is
in Dallas, and is called SCOPE (a very long story, going back to the
earliest days of the PET.) I cannot remember their PO box number at the
moment, but if you send a copy to me, I'll get it to the editor, and I know

Hello Betty, The disk is on the way. Our Amiga group has been going since
1986 and as of this month our membership stands at around 3,500 members
ONLY with Amiga computers. Regards Roger
That's a wonderful membership for Amigas only. I gather that this is a
national group, with chapters in various areas?

Hello Betty, Yes It is a national group but our country has only 3 million
population so 3500 plus membership is good. That disk I mentioned has been
sent airmail so you should get it real soon. BTW it is PAL format with a
dropback to NTSC (Hopefully). Regards Roger
Perhaps by the time I get it, I will have switched to 2.0 and a new Denise
chip that has been sitting here for a while waiting to be installed. I
believe we will be able to switch to PAL mode easily with the new chips and
2.0.
I thought it must be a national group because it is so LARGE, not because
it was small!! I think it's wonderful to have that many. I'm not sure of
the membership of ICPUG in England (also a national group) but I think it
is between 6,000 and 8,000. We have no national group here in the US, so
our clubs usually have from 100-500 members, with some larger and others
smaller, but each club runs independently of the others. There are two
groups here in the Ft. Worth-Dallas area, each independent (though we
cooperate on various projects) with its own officers, treasury, newsletter,
etc. Sometimes I think we users might carry more weight with Commodore if
we did have some kind of national organization with all of our individual
clubs working with it, but the US is so huge that it is very difficult to
manage anything like that, simply because of distance.
Thanks for the disk. I know we will enjoy it. I'll have our editor get a
copy of some of our newsletters mailed to you as soon as I get the disk –
since I assume your address will be on it.

Aww, c'mon, Steve, Colorado has only 3 million or so in population, and
it's about the same size as NZ.
Of course, it *is* rather firmly attached to a larger area with a few
more million people <;^)
