Paul, the spot colour is simply a second (or third etc.) colour used on
your output. If you wanted a headline in an alternate colour to the rest of
the document, it is considered spot colour. About "mechanical". This is one
of the PageStream printer options. The software will pass the sheet through
the printer one time for each colour. Great for drawing attention to a
certain area or article of your document. Hope this helps. BTW, I will
confess to being a PageStream fan for one reason. The RESULTS. The DeskJet
Plus and PageStream are a great combination. If you would like to see some
examples, let me know, & I'll get some hardcopy to you. For a $175.00
program, (got a good deal), I'll put it up against most anything on the
Amiga.
