Thanks to those who have left messages helping me get my CDROM-FS and CD
Rom working on my Amiga.
It's all fixed now. The last problem I had was with the Fred Fish disk
showing up as a CDDA (audio disk)…
I remembered when talking on the phone with the programmer of CDROM-FS that
there was a problem with .701 and Toshiba CDROM players where it would not
show the right icon.
On that chance, we made up a custom scsi cable for the Chinon CDS-341
player (internal). Chinon uses nonstandard 40 pin box connectors on the
back of the drive and on their scsi controller bundled with the drive (PC
SCSI controller). So our cable was a 40 pin Chinon SCSI to 25 pin D for
the external SCSI port on the GVP.
Changed the mountlist to reflect the CDS-341, hooked it up, and booted the
computer… and THERE IT WAS! Everything works great now. It's a real trip
having 480 disks of Amiga software a keystroke or two away! Only problem
I've found so far is that a lot of the games just plain run too fast on the
33 Mhz '030! <g>.
