C Class Homework #12

Vic,
In reviewing Homework #12, I believe that I failed to read the problem
correctly. Would it be O.K. to re-submit the Htoi.c and Otoi.c programs
again?
(I believe you wanted a function, not a
printed output of the conversion.)

Dave, At this point I think Vic would be tickled pink to see some more
homework. <grin>
We've become a very small class. Perhaps we should consider adopting a
seminar type format rather than a syllabus oriented class. Just a thought.
It might not work at all in the seminar format.
Ted
Hi Ted!
Well, I suppose the two functions _WOULD_ come in handy someday anyway…
-As for the class, it does not seem to be as successful as last time
around, or maybe it's just my imagination. But it's difficult to get a
proper perspective on things when yer in the middle of it sometimes… I
have a lot of confidence in Vic's judgement, and I think I'll leave those
decisions to him. However, there were questions I had when I first opened
up my 'C' compiler package (SAS). Now, my questions are a little different
and so are my problems….
A 'seminar' format would be OK with me, but might be a little tiresome for
Vic… besides I like doing SOME type of exercises just for the experience!
On the other hand, I'd sometimes rather be working on my own code…. but
that wouldn't give me as broad a background, I don't think. (Kinda narrows
my field of view, I think.)
Anyway, I also would be interested in knowing just what kind of homework
my classmates would rather be doing… i.e., if the current homework
doesn't hold their interest, then what would???
Well, I'm getting long-winded… I'll talk to ya later Ted.

Dave,
Well, in my own case, I got a contract to produce a software manual. The
deadline is fairly brutal and I can't give any time to ANYTHING else.
When it's done though, I'm definitely gonna get caught up on the
transcripts and lectures and do all my homework. I should be back at it in
about two weeks.

Malcolm,
Glad to hear you'll be returning. Some of the material we're covering
right now is somewhat sticky because we're from different backgrounds and
levels of experience trying to get to a common state of ignorance as novice
C programmers.
I can state from past experience that when we get into pointers, structs,
unions, arrays and special operators things can get pretty interesting.
Ted
Ted,
-> trying to get to a common state of ignorance
No problem! Show me any state of C ignorance. I'll probably fit it! 🙂 But
that's changing….
Malcolm
Hi Malcolm…
I can imagine that many of our classmates are also busy with other
things…. – Anyway, good luck and I hope you'll be able to continue with
the homework!
