Hi! My name is Denise and my company is Video Concepts Unlimited. I am a videography business who specializes in special occasion\event videography, video photo albums, etc., etc.. I have the Amiga 2000 enhanced\accelerated toaster workstation and am very pleased with it. My questions are–will there be continued support out there for people with my setup–now that toaster 4000 is out and (apparently) so hot? I, at present, don't intend on upgrading as I am very happy with what I have–could you tell me what the new 3.1,NewTek has to offer? I use the CG, switcher, and framestore–very little luminance keying and no Lightwave (will experiment with that when I have a lot of time!)–I will purchase the 3.1 upgrade if it will add to what I use the most.(I have ImageFX, DPaintIV and toastervision). Also, are there any animations that I can purchase that will allow me to superimpose them over say, a child's party, a wedding, dance recital-something like the effects from toastervision–the fairy, the moving truck, flying airplane or, the switcher effects–Kiki S., muscleman, etc.. I will always use these effects but I need more of a variety now. Thank you! Denise

There are still ALOT of Toaster 2.0 users out there, so I think you can still count on support for some time to come. Newtek has stated , however, that any future HARDWARE enhancements will only be for the Toaster 4000 board, so eventually upgrading will become a "neccesity". As for upgrading to 3.1, I would say yes. The power of the Toaster is increaded exponentially with this software (with too many features added to go into here). The street price of the upgrade will be under $500 (we're selling it for $469.00), and it is more than worth every penney!

You can count on many 3rd party hardware and software add-ons for the various versions of Video Toaster. The Video Toaster User magazine is a great resource for finding out exactly what is available. The product reviews give you an idea of what the products can do for you – or not.

Why is the software less for the 3.1 upgrade than for 3.0? Eventually, I hope they will be able to offer ONLY the toaster add-ons that one needs–then I could pick and choose. If I were to order this upgrade through you–what is your address and company name? Denise

Chuck, Could you please give some details on the 3.1 upgrade features? I asked a VT user who had received the 3.1 upgrade and he said that it looked like just some new objects and a little bit of enhancement for the CG. What else does it offer? Thanks Matt
