Howdy, I'm trying to work with Imagine 1.1fp (latest disk from Impulse, .lzh file dated 12Jun91, fp version 484052 in size). When navigating in file requesters, if I double click the left mouse button to select files or directories I almost always freeze up. I've got a 2000, 2630, 1&8 megs, flicker fixer, 2091 controller, 3 hds. I usually have Mach II running, but have had the same symptoms w/wo it running. Any one have a clue as to what may be the trouble? Learning Imagine has been hard enough, I don't need hardware problems too! Oh, and no, no other program's directory requesters exhibit any trouble… Perplexed in SF, Jan – via Whap!

Well, mine is 483,764 — maybe one or two revs behind you? (sidenote: do the newer ones have any more goodies, or are they just bug fixes (or bug additions, as in this case)?) My double-clicking file names works just fine. I'm running a similar setup, only replace the accellerator and controller with GVP stuff…. no probs…. Does it happen ALL THE TIME? or just sometime? Any pattern? Shoot, I'm stumped…. –jp–seattle–

John, Not too sure of all the new goodies, 'cept Louis Markoya said to get this sized Imagine as it squashes a bug that prevented his Map Master from working properly. Yeah, it happens all the time. I think it's the controller because I had to get 'Bang Zero' to even get Imagine to run with it back in February. What's a poor boy to do? Jan ps I was thinking of GVPs stuff, too. – via Whap!

Jan, well, Impulse told me that there was no 'fix' for Imagine, and that all 1.1's ran fine with MapMaster (I saw Louis' note as well, so I called). All I know is, I have MapMaster, and an early 1.1, and haven't had any problems (so far) 🙂 I've heard that 'bang zero' will fix some problems, but I thought that was just with the Commodore SCSI boards? Oh well, if it works for you. Good luck! –jp–seattle–

John, Ah, more mysteries! I guess no one else has had 2091/Imagine problems, so maybe it's something else in my system. Can't wait to get 2.0.?! Later, Jan – via Whap!

Jan, I have Imagine 1.1 and a 2091 controller. I haven't had the problems you mention. ….Mark

Mark, Thanx for replying. I wonder what else it could be? I have Mach II running, with 'SunMouse', 'Click to Front', and a 'Mouse Accelerator'. But even when I turn those things off (and Mach II), I still freeze up when double clicking in a file requester dialog box! Wonder where else I can look? Jan – via Whap!

I've noticed the same thing. I thought it was MACH III that I was running. Maybe not! I've also found that it usually happens if I do a "fast" double click (sort of hard to explain what a fast double click is 8^). I rarely double click the requestors any more for that reason.
