Well, I've just finished my first DTP project since getting Pagestream. I should say I've finished the first one I'm not embarrased to try and get printed at a service bueau. I had a lot of fun doing this. I think I'm ready for a lot of constructive criticism <G> Would any of you DTP Pro's out there be willing to critique my latest project? I'd really like to here some input on what I can do to jazz things up. I just got a coupla books on DTP. But the problem with books is you don't get feedback. If anyone would be willing to take a look let me know and I'll upload it to you–2 files about 40k total. I'd really appreciate any tips on Basics. I'm using an Amiga500 and don't own a laser nor do I have a structured drawing program yet, so I'm somewhat limited in what I can put out right now. None-the-less I'd appreciate any tips I can get. Craig: Congratualtions on your completeing your first project. I'd love to see it. How about Lharcing it and sending it to me? BTW, you DO have a structured drawing program! Although not exactly full featured and/or sophisticated, the drawing tools in PgS create structured images… which means no jaggies. If you do upload your work, be sure to include a short doc file saying what fonts you used. – Whapping from the North Coast Michael

Craig … congrats on getting over the first big hurdle in DTP … your first real document 🙂 I'd be happy to offer a constructive criticism of your results. I used to be editor of the UK edition of Transactor For The Amiga, a magazine that used to get much praise for its style .. and I have done much the same thing with people over here. So, please feel free. I should add that I do tend to be something of a perfectionist when it comes to the such things … but I do try to be constructive. Mike (Whapping from the UK)

Well, I have a feeling you'll find a LIST of things that need improving then <G>. I really have no DTP background, I just got a coupla books on the subject and am in the middle of information overload (Whitespace, ems, picas, leading, etc…ARGH!). But I'm ready for anything you can throw at me. I just learned (the hard way) about physical margins on laser printers (top part of my masthead got sliced off). I learned a lot of other things on this document as well, such as just how different laser output is compared to my dot-matrix (Times looks like a totally different font!) Well hope to hear from you soon (I think) :-> Craig Glaser (Software Etc Milwaukee) – via Whap!
