#Gif load for Firecracker
8 messages in this thread
Has anyone seen a fast GIF loader for the Firecracker board? I'm looking
for something I can install as a 'button' in Directory Opus.

Jim,
Try Viewtek. The archive here on CIS includes a FC24 version. It has a
button on my DOpus screen.

Mark,
I thought that was a version for GVP's IV24. I'll take another look,
thanks.

There is a version for the IV24 but also a version for the FC24. It
doesn't handle images well that are larger than the display (shows top
left section) but is still very convenient. I'm running ver2.0. The
archive I have includes programs for native Amiga display, IV24,
Opalvision, Retina and FC24.

Thanks Mark, I just DL'ed it and installed it. While it doesn't work
exactly like I wanted, it's much better than what I had before. I was
hoping for something that would dump the GIF into the FC and then go away
leaving the board on.

Jim,
You can always leave a cli open and type the appropriate command like
aon 768 wich will turn the board back on with the previous image. Clunky
but it works. AdPro leaves the FC24 display on when you leave the program.
Others I have used do not ie. Imagemaster, Light24, Viewtek.

Mark,
I've tried it. It's wierd, but that will work from the CLI, but not from
the button I programmed into Opus.

Jim,
I just made a new button in DirOpus; right next to Viewtek. I called it
"Aon". It is a "command" and I simply entered "aon 768". Works fine
although a little clunky. I don't know about putting both functions on the
same button. I use two monitors. One (Nec3D) shows de-interlaced Amiga
native display. The other (ancient A1080) is FC24 with interlaced Amiga
display overlaid.
