A3000 bootable drives

Are there only specific drives that will work as the "boot" drive for an A3000? For example, when you buy an A3000 you can get either 50, 100 or 200 MB drives (200 for Unix box anyway). Can any other size drive be used to replace these? Say a 250MB drive. I am curious since the A3000 doesn't have a BIOS (as far as I know) to tell it how big the drive is – cylinders, tracks/cynlinder, etc. -Jay Pedersen
