#HP 1200c prin supported?

What type of color output does the AMIGA support? I was planning to do color renderings on an 4000 and then print them out in color. Is this possible? Thanks

Early, Hmm, what kind of output are you looking for? If you are using a program like ADPro, which has pretty great Postscript support, you should have no problem going out to a device like a Tek color printer. Additionally, ASDG has drivers for slide output, and there are dedicated drivers available (but probably hard to find) for Mitsu and Shinko color printers. Jonathan, unless I'm mistaken, ADPro will print in 24 bit color to any preferences supported printer. Not having such a beast, yet, I can't verify this feature. Brian

Brian, Yes, I believe that ADPro will allow 24-bit output to an Preferences printer. However, most of the newer color printers are Postscript; the HP1200c is an exception (although Postscript is available). Personally, I would go with Postscript. Thanks for replying. I would like to output 24bit color to my HP 1200c (like the HP paintjet XL) 300dpi bubble-jet printer. I am very interested in the Amiga. But I'm afraid I might have to give up the ease of printing from my PC. If I do get an Amiga I would like to do renderings in one of the many 3D programs such as Caligari 24. Is there any way to transfer wireframe models (in DXF format) to my PC? Thanks for the help! Early

Early, Assuming that you don't have the Postscript option for the 1200c (a good idea, even with a PC), I would locate and talk to someone I've seen here – Wolf Faust, I believe is his name. He specializes in producing drivers for printers that CBM neglects. Secondly, for 3D, you should talk to John Foust, in the Syndesis section of the AmigaVendor forum. He is the 3D conversion expert around these and other parts…he can tell you how portable your 3D stuff is likely to be. //Jonathan, \\//via AutoPilot
