#Music X Question

Hi… I have the opportunity to pick up a copy of Music X used at a store here. I was wondering if anyone knows if this will work with the 1200 with an 030 board and WB 3.0. I have tried contacting the makers of the software, Microillusions, but they seem to be out of business. I know what this program can do and I am interested in its features but will it work on my machine? Jon

Jonathan, Depends on which version of Music-X you're talking about. Anything earlier than version 1.1b does not run very well on 2.0x, 3.0 systems. Even v1.1b has a few problems, mainly with the step-write function. MicroIllusions products were purchased by: Hollyware Entertainment 13464 Washington Blvd. Marina del Rey, CA 90291 sorry, no phone no. There were rumors of a Music-X upgrade, you may want to write and inquire. Howard – via Whap!

Jonathan, can you drop a note what you found out about Music-X? I (and maybe some others 'round 'ere) already have Music-X (I have v1.0 which works 99% of what I've tried with it so far on my 030/882/OS 2.04 A2000) and of course I'm interested if it's gonna live again… :v) // Chris coming in from Germany \X/ on AutoPilot 1.06………..

Well, everybody… here's what I found out. I called information and got the phone number for Hollyware Entertainment and called them (I lost the number… sorry). I talked with the guy who is actually working on 2.0. He gave me a list of some of the new features although being a novice at MIDI, they didn't seem to make much sense to me. They sounded cool though…. anyway, he said to just send in the original disks of Music X (just the program and utils disk… NOT the examples). Also, include a check for $5 (in the states… I'm not sure if it would be more for Germany or not). He will send out the latest version which is, indeed, v1.1b. This version runs pretty well under 2.0, he said. A LOT better than 1.0. He will then add my name to the list of registered users and notify me when 2.0 should arrive… hopefully soon! If you have any other questions, I can call them again if necessary… Jon

Christian, The number for them is 310-822-9200. The guy I spoke with is Phil Moody. He (I believe) is the one working on Music-X 2.0. C-ya, Jon
