#Splicing FLI files
5 messages in this thread
Is there a command line utility that will join FLI files together? I
have a 30 FLI sequence that I would like to consolidate and ANI keeps
loosing its Macro Syncronization when I try to do this with a macro
that repeatly calls Join.
Also, is there any way to recover a partially damaged flic file? I
have the first 7MB of a large file that will play for a bit under
AAWIN. The file will load into ANI but when I press the >> to play I
crash to DOS with "Abnormal program termination: memory protection
fault". I guess what I'm looking for is a utility that checks each
sucessive frame for validity and when it encounters bogus data puts
the correct file termination stuff at the end and closes the file.
I am not aware of anything that will join successive Flics into one.
Something could probably be written in POCO to do this, but I haven't
heard of anything that exists already.
For saving the portion of a Flic that is not damaged, I prefer to use
the FLITAPE utility. Run flitape on the FLC using the options to save
as sequential TGA files to disk. It will save as many as it can until
the corrupted portion, and then you can use numpic to load those
TGA's back into AAPRO as a Flic.
Thanks for the FLITAPE idea… That'll work!
Thanks for the information about the Macro synchronization problem
over successive joins. I'll report it.
"Dave's Targa animator" utility might do that. (DTA) look in the graphdev
forum, under the morphing file area for the latest version.. it is a must have
for fli/flc users.
