Is there any way to read PhotoCD from Amiga ?
Are there something like Loder-module for PhotoCD to processing them on ADPro ?
From what I've heard, both ASIMWARE and XETEC's CDROM software now support
the reading/conversion of PhotoCD's in a compatible CDROM Drive.
I use the CD-ROM file system from Xetec, and their latest release (v1.6x?)
will read the _first_ session of a PhotoCD disc, but not any later
sessions. The resulting PCD file can then be converted to an IFF format
using an included converter utility.
Xetec's tech support said it dovetailed quite nicely with ADPro, as the
resulting images are 24 bit IFF files. (Of course, even ViewTek can view a
24bit iff, but it'll look better if you open the picture using something
like ADPro or any other 24 bit image processing program.)
Hope this helps,

I will try to get infomation about that. recently I have got Mac in my office.
PhotoCD on screen is quite good. I hope to try them on Amiga.
Thanks!
FWIW, Xetec's Phone Number (in Salina, Kansas, USA) is (913)827-0685.
(I ended up ordering it directly from Xetec, as no Amiga dealers were
stocking it. The Amiga dealers did have the Asimware product though.)
I hope you've got an Amiga 4000, or 1200. The PhotoCD pictures will look
beautiful in the AGA modes.

The key question is support with a loader from ASDG….
ASDG, do you plan to support the .PCD graphical file format within Art
Department Professional for the Amiga?
Thxs,
your Fans!
I assume that ASDG will see your message.
_I_ do not work for ASDG.

I called ASDG the other day and they said that they will NOT be coming out
with PhotoCD support because Kodak wants too much $$$ for a license.
That's what the salesmen told me anyway.
