#corrupt update files
6 messages in this thread
I just received my 4.11 update to DirectoryOpus. I have a checksum error
on disk block 904 on the readme.doc.info file and a checksum error on disk
block 1218 of the readme.doc file. Should I return the disk or can you
download the above mentioned files via the forum?

Robert,
It appears that Inovatronics placed a defective disc into the mass
copier! My upgrade had the same problem. Fortunately only the readme.doc
was damaged, and it is identical to a list of DOpus' new features
somethere in this forums library. A bit sloppy, but easily fixed!

I finally had a chance to try Hazy's DiskSalv 2.0 🙂
It will indeed fix it.

Paul,
It "sort of" fixes it. The problem isn't that your disc was corrupt,
but that the master disc that INOVAtronics used to make all of our dupes
was corrupted. You can salvaged a somewhat muddled partial list of new
features from the damaged file, but for a complete list I suggest that you
download it from their DL here on the AmigaVendor forum.

Roy,
I tried Quarterback Tools to try and fix the readme.doc file and QBT
showed an error for the install program too. You have any trouble with the
install program?

Robert,
I believe that my install program was not damaged. WHat I did was used
disksalve to get rid of the checksum errors (finding out that the readme
and readme.info files were damaged, and then deleted the damamged files
after the full installation. Unfortunately the bad file was available
here in the DL area, so no harm was done (but INOVAtronics should have
better quality assurance).
