Roy: I would like to add this to Roy Pehnke posting 60810. Well put! Just to let you know how representative his views are: I own and engineer Heritage Studio, a commercial digital recording studio. I use SBpro4 to store Mixer settings and Patch locations. My fiance is a world leader in her field of music and many of her business contracts/ invoices as well as her schedule and music library is stored and reproduced on SBPro4. I am not happy with the service I have recieved and based on the messages I've read here on CIS I will not be upgrading until some of these bugs are fixed. BTW I mentioned to Pat @ Oxxi well over a year ago, a bug in version 1.02 with the print command and was told that this bug would be fixed in version 1.2 but I have never even been given the opportunity to upgrade until the last few weeks. Because of my Fiance's fame in this country I am used to having companies customizing their products for us and providing preferencial treatment. This is of course very useful!, but not taken for granted. I used to find Oxxi very helpful and SBPro4 got some good publicity out of us. Since Pat at Oxxi left I feel that the service given by Oxxi has fallen below what I would expect out of common courtesy. I posted about five messages asking how to upgrade over a period of six months only two weeks ago was one anwsered. I do still recommend SBPro4 in magazine articles written about the studio but it is getting to the point where that is becomming increasingly difficult to justify. Please reply to Roy's posting. Regards, Greg

Greg, I'm sorry that you don't get the 'preferencial' treatment with Oxxi. But to be honest, I don't know what your problem is. Most of the print problems were solved in version 1.2 except for a problem with Laser printers and printing a blank page. That problem has been solved in version 1.3. Our support on CIS is limited, I get on here about 3-4 times a month. I can't do everythinh here. I am currently doing multiple things at a time, like compiling SBase, replying to messages, edit source code, and take screen shots for the manual. I do this on one machine, on my other machine I am compiling our Network software {which I am the developer of}. I am trying to tell you that I am trying to do quite a lot in a short period of time, and when Pat was here I didn't have to do tech support, I am a programmer, not a tech-support person. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I must say that that is the way things are for the time being. Thank you, Mike

Mike, I was not asking for "Preferencial" treatment, but the normal run of the mill replying to requests that I would expect from any company. You say the print problems were solved in version 1.2, but how the hell would I know? I was never given the opportunity to upgrade, despite many requests. I can see from your reply that you are being asked to perform the jobs of many people. It would therefore be unjust of me to blame you personally. However marketing a product doesn't just mean selling it to people and then forgetting about them, it is obvious from your reply and other messages here, that Oxxi do not have the resorces to support SBase Pro 4. I am very disappointed with your company and would consider carefully before buying any futher products from Oxxi, this will also be my advice to others. Greg

Greg, I am not saying that I am the only one working on the product. But we are certainly stressed. We support and are developing other products also. We are dependant on the support of the users to complete our goals. If we are not performing to your needed expectations, then I am sorry, we can only hope that someday we can acomplish the tasks you require. SBase is a very potent database, we realize that it needs work in order to be competative in the database arena. We are attempting to learn what the user wants and needs. But we haven't been able to respond to everyone, we try to determine what the best action to take is. Please call me and tell me what it is that you want to see in SBase. Maybe we can work together… Mike
