#CG Font?? TypeSmith

Mike: I have tried your suggestions to deal with the problem I am having with
CG fonts exported from TypeSmith. No luck … however I should describe my
export method in more detail. First, if I attempt to export a font directly
from TypeSmith to my fonts: directory, TypeSmith correctly designates the path
to fonts:_bullet_outlines subdirectory. If I continue, I find that the
cgfont.type file is exported to this directory ok, BUT it does not subsequently
appear in the font list when I attempt to open a font from fonts: I therefore
export the CGfont from TypeSmith to the TSfonts directory, and use the
"Fountain" utility to bring the CGfont over to my fonts: directory. This allows
me to see the font in the font list. Everything about the exported CGfont is
fine except that character39 (quoteright) comes out as character38 (ampersand).
If I import the cgfont back into TypeSmith, the characters are in the right
place. The error occurs in the two programs I have that use cgfonts ProWrite
and Procalc. Is there a way to get the cgfonts exported by TypeSmith directly
into a fonts list? My problem could also be caused by the Fountain program and
if I could avoid using it, it might solve the misplaced ampersand problem.

Fountain MUST be used to install fonts for the Amiga. AmigaDOS does not
automatically read the fonts in _bullet_outlines, Fountain is the only way to
update the list.
Hmm, I took a standard DMF font and converted it to CG Intellifont format,
installed it with Fountain, and then used it in DPaint and ProCalc without
problems. Characters 38 and 39 were in the correct places.
Have you had this problem with more than one font? Check the composition table.
Does character 38 reference 39 and vice versa? Maybe the characters are
composed of each other for some strange reason.
