Sorry it's taken me so long to reply. Loading or not loading SHARE has no
effect on the machines that don't work. (It also has no effect on the one that
does work either!)
BTW, I didn't think this thing was so flaky!

Believe it or not, when I loaded SHARE from config.sys, I too got the "no mem"
problem but not when SHARE is loaded from autoexec.bat! And I've seen machines
work not having loaded SHARE at all. Go figure. Well, back to the age of
alchemy 🙂
