My sister lives in Westwood and attends UCLA. She was skiing in Lake Tahoe with a bunch of other surorities and fraternities when the quake hit. They had to go through Nevada and come in on city streets just to get back. Her apartment was intact from the outside, but inside her stereo fell off the ent.center and broke, the speakers broke and all of these little glass things on shelves from her "sisters" were on the ground in pieces too. Lucky she wasn't there, though, because a picture which was hanging above her bed was in pieces all over her bed and would have hit here, if she were there. Thank god all is well.

Sorry to hear about your sister's losses, glad she's okay. I can relate to earthquake damage, I live in San Francisco.

glad to hear your sister's OK. It's a bad idea to have anything on the wall above the bed in California.
