I've got a client who is moving his AEC drafting from the table to the Computer. Problem is his funds are limited. (aren't we all<g>) He wants to do Walk throughs and all the wonderful things that 3D Studio can give him but he just doesn't have the cash to invest in AutoCAD Release 12 Plus AutoArchitect AND 3D Studio….Oh Ya he's gotta buy a computer too cause all they got now is an SX. My original Idea was to have him purchase AutoCAD and a less expensive 3rd party package for the 3D Geometry like Architectural Power tools but he can't even make the AutoCAD $'s. I was also thinking that maybe Generic CAD would work but as a Dealer I've never used anything other than full blown AutoCAD with the higher end AEC packages. Does anyone have experience creating 3D Architectural Geometry and then importing it in to 3D Studio for further Renderings and Presentation.???? I sure could use some economical advice on this guys -low- end 3D Studio Starter Kit! As Always any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. James M. Murphy

See the suggestions I gave Steven C. Amos, in the message "3D soft. ADVICE needed", above. These should be right up your alley. Good luck!

James; If he cant afford the move to Acad how can he afford 3D-Studio? The way to cut cost would be to go with the AutoCad and then go with something like ARE-24, an ads program that does 24bit animations inside autocad that are 100% compat. to Ani Pro. With this application everything is done inside AutoCad. Any moifications that need to be done in the same place. Theres no need to togle between the two applications. Hope it helps!
