Watch out when reading ads, as some of the older drives advertise as Kodak compatible, but they can only read a single session recording. I just bought the Sound Blaster 16ASP card with the double speed CD drive for at home (yipee!! a new toy!), and it's multi-session compatible at the electronics level, as well as XA-compatible (meaning it can play the combined (interleaved) video/sound stuff). Not that there's much of that on the market…. The cheap Mitsumi drive is also multi-session compatible, but will never be XA-compatible because of it's electronics. Sony and Philips defined a pretty tough spec, and it's a wonder that Mitsumi manages to trick the electronics into reading Kodak disks. BTW, the drive from Kodak uses a similar trick. The spec says that to read Kodak disks, the drive should be XA-compatible. Steve
