While this may be true it doesn't automatically mean it IS that
program. I once had my machine continually crash but only when I ran
a particualr program, I then found out it was my ram board wasn't
seated right. Don't ask me why it would only crash with that
particular program.

You may have a version of Imagine that has a bug with a 040, but I haven't
heard of one. You may want to check the version of your 040.library and
see if it may be that. Ask Erik, he just went thru problems like that.

I think that Jonathan and I have the same problems with Imagine 2.0
and the 040 board. It doesn't seem to be related to the version of
workbench, the 040 library, the setpatch version, the addmem version,
or background software. I have tried many many hours of
reconfiguration and testing and I have Never been able to get Imagine
2.0 to run properly with my 040 equiped A2000.
The problems dissapears in 68000 mode and if I resinstall the old 030
board, I even went so far as to test this on a brand new Amiga
without the megachip and it still locked up. I have given up on
running Imagine 2.0 under an 040, funny thing is that I can still run
Imagine 1.1 and even Turbo Silver, just fine.

Most likely you guys most have a version of Imagine that has a bug. See if
you can get the latest 2.0 version from Impulse and see if this solves
your problems.
For the time being I am content to run the old 030 and wait for 3.0 to
hit. I'm not working on anything right now that has a pressing
deadline. I do have a big presentation scheduled for November but I
should have plenty of time with the 030 to get it done.
I wonder if Jonathan is using a progressive product ? Hmm…

I have tried the same system with an 030 and the software works fine. It is
only a problem with my 040. I am now using Real3D without problems. I also
use the 040 under Emplant emulation and other programs that heavily tax the
040. There is nothing wrong with it. It has to be Imagine.

I would try and get another version of Imagine if I were you.
