#Amiga CD32

I think someone is pulling your chain, frankly. That's all I can say.
The suject came up in the middle of a long conversation with a long
time friend of mine who would not do such a thing. Perhaps a select
few game developers have the machines and others have not been. In
fact just yesterday, I talked to a local US developer about CD32
support and they said they were waiting for it to be released. He
didn't even know they were available overseas and he was the product
manager of Amiga games! Anyway, needless to say, it appears that
only the serious Amiga game developers have been made privvy to it's
development.
Speaking as both a published game developer and registered Amiga
developer, I can relate my experiences concerning C='s support of
their developers. On two occasions this year, at industry-specific
"developer"-releated gatherings (C='s developer conference last
January and the Game Developers Conference this past April), I spoke
with representatives of Commodore Application and Technical Support
(CATS) about the problems that we game developers are facing in the
US market concerning supporting the Amiga platform.
On both occasions, I was told something to the effect that "we
have something coming that will address your concerns, but we can't
tell you anything about it". End of story.
Since those encounters, I have heard absolutely 0 (nothing) from
Commodore concerning the CD32, until yesterday when they officially
informed me of its existance. Yes, I've heard about it in the rumor
mill and on the nets before yesterday, but not from Commodore. This
is how they are supporting their developers?
This type of treatment has led me to a single conclusion — since
Commodore is not interested in really supporting me as a developer,
and since supporting the Amiga is a marginal proposition at best
_with_ support from C=, my developer status will be allowed to expire
and we will not be considering supporting the Amiga until the market
is able to _prove_ to us that it would be in our financial interests
to reconsider. It's going to take more than a "marginal, maybe"
indication, however.

BUMMER!
sorry to here that. I've always been quite impressed with your
products and buy them unreservedly as soon as I find them. I wish
you well in your ventures.
