I have a question regarding Dr. T's KCS V3.57 (the most current I believe) and
Copyist DTP. Do these programs have AREXX support or is this planned for the
future? I realize they have MPE but for various applications (like
multimedia), it would be useful to have the AREXX option. Or can an AREXX hook
into MPE be created? In addition, are there any compatibility problems with
these machines on AGA machines, since this may be a consideration for me in the
future?
Secondly, how extensive is the QuickScore that comes with the KCS program for
musical notation, relative to Copyist DTP? Is DTP still the way to go for
publication quality printouts (I have access to a postscript printer)? Do you
only get the Adobe Sonata fonts when you get up to DTP?
Finally, does the Copyist DTP work fine with AmigaDOS 2.1? The package says
Workbench 1.3 for system requirements, but I'm guessing that V1.3 or higher
would be okay.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The bad news is, no AREXX support. 🙁
I'm sure the reason for the blowout prices Dr.T was offering is because Amiga
development is >NIL: Amiga tech support will probably hang in there for a while
but I'm 99% sure no more upgrades or further development.
Copyist DTP is the only Amiga score program offering Postscript support, also
C-DTP does run on Workbench 2.1.
It seems DR.T's is changing directions, not to spread rumors, but I think
they're working on interactive music/multimedia programs for the PC/Windows
environment.

Thanks a lot Howard. I guess they're still pretty powerful programs and should
complement other programs I use in the studio including Music-X, Dr. T's X-oR
and others, and the prices were pretty impressive for what the programs can
supposedly do. I've found you don't always need the most current equipment or
software to be productive, if those products are good to begin with, and you
can certainly save a lot of money by waiting a bit on some things (particularly
music equipment).
