Several faculty on my campus are using Hyperchem to teach Chemistry
and are interested in using a presentation program, such as Compel,
with which to incorporate their animations. Compel, however, doesn't
recognize the file format of Hyperchem files. At the EdMedia
conference in Orlando this past June, a Autodesk representative told
me that a conversion utiltity had been put together. He never got
back to me as promised. Can anyone point me to a way for converting
Hyperchem files to the format of 3D Studio? —Terry
I've been working on a Protein Database to 3D Studio converter. At Siggraph, I
spoke with Tony Brand who'd been doing a similar project with John Walker. I
hope to speak with Tony again soon about releasing a 3DS <-> HyperChem link.
My company makes InterChange Plus, a 3D translation program. We convert between
many different 3D formats, including 3D Studio.
