We're having a problem trying to get Orchid Fahrenheit 1280 + VLB card working with 3D Studio rel. 2. We downloaded the VESA driver REV1.EXE from ORCHID bulletin board and followed their instructions for installing 3D Studio 2.0. The ORCHID install inserts a SET command in our AUTOEXEC: SET DSPADI=C:\ORCHID\RCFADI42.EXP 3D Studio never gives us a chance to reset the resolution in the configuration and fails when we try to display images.

Hi Mondo's. I left a message for you in the 3D Studio section. You need to re write your environment to SET RCPADI=… . It also sounds like you got an ACAD driver, not a 3D Studio driver (the one I used was RCPFADI42.EXP). Good luck, John Tissavary (La Luna cie)

I agree, it does sound like you are using an ACAD driver, and it might not work. If it will work with 3DS, it needs to be set either as an RCPADI or RDPADI driver. To re-configure an ADI driver for 3ds, the easiest way is to delete the 3DADI.CFG file that the ADI driver creates, this will force a reconfiguration. -Brian
