Can anybody help, I have a few 3d studio files which have quite a few texture
maps / auto-reflects etc. when we rendered the job orginally, it was for video
(740 x 578) and even then I had a memory swap file, but now I need to render
some hi-res (2000 x 1500) but my machine just crashes in varous forms part way
through. My machine has 32 megs of ram and plenty of disk space for the swap
file.
Any ideas greatfully received.

As a default, 3ds sends the swap file to the same directory as your 3ds.exe
file. If you have a split hard disk, the directory that the executable is on
might not be large enough for the swap file. You can specify a different drive
for the swap file using the CFIG386 program with the "swapdir" switch. Take a
look at " (I HATE it when I hit Enter instead of "). Anyway, take a look at
"Using CFIG386.EXE" in the Installation Guide. Specifically, page 69.
