_______________________________________________________________________________ Subject: Software QA Engineer II S/W QA #4291 Date: 7/6/94 Grade: 9 Salary Range: Based on experience ________________________________________________________________________ Responsible for: * Developing, writing, and implementing structured software testing plans, test designs and test cases, and for conducting system test. * Developing and maintaining automated tests. * Reviewing release notes, specifications, reference documentation, tutorials and other project documentation as necessary. * Finding, analyzing, reporting, and tracking software errors and their resolution. * Managing own assignments and schedules and communicating test strategy and status, both verbally and in writing to management. * Working closely with developers, writers, marketing, and product management, to resolve technical and product quality issues. Requirements/Qualifications: * A minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical experience in software testing or software development, or related experience. * Knowledge of programming languages and some programming experience. * In-depth DOS, Windows, and some UNIX operating system experience. * Experience with Autodesk and/or Multimedia-based products. * Experience installing, configuring and testing computer peripherals. * Strong ability to diagnose software and hardware problems. * Strong ability to remain organized and manage time within a fast paced environment. * Good verbal and written communication skills, and good negotiation skills. * Ability and willingness to work as a team member and team player.
