Hi all. I need sone help… Who can think of a cool name for my new animation company? I have been on this new name thing for 3 weeks and have come up with nothing! The only two names I liked were already taken and I only have a week to go before D-Day. Basically I want something that's not techno but more human..something that means.."to breathe life into" or something. Any ideas??? Thanks Glenn

Hi Glenn, Well, its late and I'm tired but here's some suggestion: you might play with the word "aliento" which means "breath" in Spanish. (Alientek? Alientate?) Hmmm. . . . in english it sounds more like "alien." Here's a few other possible root words: Vida – (life): "Vidation? Vidamation?" Vivir – (to live) "Vivanimate?" Respira – (to breathe) "Respira? Respirani?" The german word for "breath" is: "atem" (AtemTek? Ateminate?) OK, I give up, how about "Kanagaroo Animation?" (G) Alec Jason

Alec.. KANGAROO ANIMATION?!?! I can see it now…little Kangaroo's in the lobby, Kangaroo skins on the couch….cool Kangaroo juice in the fridge…(Big G). Your suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. I liked ATEM and VIDA the best. They'll go on my list. Thanks a lot! Glenn 4Di.

Glenn: I just got back to my hotel room after a fun night at the Adesk party here at SIGGRAPH. The demo reel is packed with your stuff and rightly so, its fantastic!!!!! Names for your company: Mpower – M for Melenhorst and a take on empower. Melenia – just sounds cool but you'll have to spell it out for everyone. GM – Let General Motors sue, you'll get lotsa publicity. Bob

Bob, Oh how I wish I were on that side of the globe so I could join in with all you 3DS junkies. It tears at my heart like a long lost family across the ocean. Let's hope GM animation earns me enough greenbacks (actually ours are plastic and mlticoloured) to get me there! Thanks again for your kind words about my work. I feel totaly outclassed by much of what I saw on the reel. It's great to see so much absolutely professional work being pumped out by 3D-Studio. I particularly liked the whale animation..David Stinnet is my idea of a living legend! Talk soon. Glenn 4Di (but not for long)

As I'm viewing the tape again while writing this, very intense work. I was personally riveted. Yours is a very cool collection. Kurt

Didn't have time to dig through my books last night, but how about "Forehead of Zeus"? I'll probably catch flak for screwing this up, but, didn't Zeus' wife Hera (?) spring from his forehead? Or was it a daughter? Mythology class was a long time ago. Anyway, your press releases could read "Straight from The Forehead of Zeus comes ….", etc. Dave

David, "Forehead of Zeus" Never heard of it (but I did know that Daniel Boone had a wild front ear! (GROAN)). Glenn

Anthropromorphic Designs Just kidding! Nice work on the demo tape! Just loved it. Congratulations. Also enjoyed the monk and burning challice . It was being used to demonstrate some 3DS features.
