From an April BIX PR message for CPR:
Contact: Allan M. Purtle (snapper@bix.com)
Company: Canadian Prototype Replicas
Phone: +1-519-884-4412
That looks like a US phone number but I've never called them. You could
also contact Allan Purtle by Internet mail from CompuServe.

It is a Canadian number. The US and Canada share the +1 country code. Or
something like that. I never have to do any special dialing to reach
Canadians.

Thanks Gerald,
I left a message for "snapper" and was told that CPR no longer supports 1.3.
I have given up the search for a CD driver that will work with 1.3. I guess my
trusty A1000 will have to attain door stop status. (And my daughter's A500…)
Ah well, I now have an A2000 wiuth 2.1 installed <trumpet sounds in the
background> and that will have to do until next month when 2.1 is replaced with
3. whatever…..
Seriously, now I have the CDROM player playing Eric Clapton (unplugged…
ironically) and I guess that will have to be enough. :')
If anybody can help with the 1.3/CDROM… I remain,

It really is time to upgrade that 1.3 machine…

My 2000HD now sports a 2.1 WB, a 540meg Hard Drive and a CDROM device, all
installed in the last week or so……

Where did you the 2.1 WB enhancer kit?

Have you talked to Xetec about their CD driver? They recently sold the
rights to a German firm, but a cheap phone call to 913-827-0685 would at
least tell you if it worked under 1.3, and if so, they could refer you to
the new owner.
Worth a shot.

I'm not using Xetec, but maybe I could check 'em out. The original thought was
that I might be able to use a CDROM drive with my daughter's A500, or use it
with ( perish the thought ) my original A1000 that I'm currently using to write
this note. I figured that I might buy the stuff to get the old a1000 souped
up a little to handle the load. Most folks advised me against it, but I still
am
harboring the hope.
Thanks for the advice,
As we say in KC, 'preciate it !

Yeah, Hal.
Try Xetec CD Rom FileSystem.
I started using it on a Stock A500 then transfered it to my A1200.
Thanks … Id like to try that.
