It is more than obvious that Jeffrey is NOT lacking in intelligence ( not to be confused with wisdom, maturity), however, we might want to inquire as to his degree of manual dexterity, if he has severe C.P. his typing skills may be limited, which may explain the repeated messages, as in saving the effort of rephraseing his questions, or perhaps unintentional re issue………………………… DRM

Daniel, Jeffrey's typing looks fine and he spells better than many able bodied people on the forum. Who said he had CP? I don't remember that.

>>Daniel, >>Jeffrey's typing looks fine and he spells better than many able bodied people on the forum. >>Who said he had CP? I don't remember that. I was contacted by someone via email regarding him not long ago, do I know for sure, not yet. As for typing and spelling, do you REALLY believe that if he is disabled that he could NOT type or spell LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ??? WE DO VERY WELL THANKS ! Thats the kind of, put nicely, misinformation that many of US deal with on a daily basis, the source of the single greatest road block in our lives. My note to you yesterday pertained to the degree of CONTROL of his hands, if he does indeed have cerebral palsy, depending on severity, he may not have linear control, as in they move but with very limited accuracy, ONE CAN WITH GREAT EFFORT type a note, SLOWLY, off line, then log on and send, which could be why he re submits the same note more than once, or in the course of sending he could very well be inadvertantly sending the note many times. And before you might suggest that he could not use 3ds if he has that kind of disability, the use of a mouse is a heck of a lot easier than hitting a small key, additionaly and most importantly DO NOT sell yourself short by GROSSLY UNDER ESTIMATING the determination, resolve, and imagination applied by the disabled, you may miss the opportunity to spend some time in the company of GIANTS of HUMAN ACCOMPLISHMENT and SPIRIT………keep smiling, I AM 😉 😉 😉 A Real, Live, GIANT 🙂 (since the age of six months old, 43 years ago)

>> DO NOT sell yourself short by GROSSLY UNDER ESTIMATING the >> determination, resolve, and imagination applied by the disabled, you may >> miss the opportunity to spend some time in the company of GIANTS of HUMAN >> ACCOMPLISHMENT and SPIRIT………keep smiling, I AM 😉 😉 😉 Well put, Daniel! This touches on a subject that is near and dear to my heart. I never realized the invisible barriers that disabled people faced until I became disabled myself. Granted, my disabilities are not visible or easily recognizable, but they are there just the same. I began experiencing severe pain after disc surgery in my neck and found it difficult to sit at a desk for eight hours a day without causing weakness and numbness in my left arm and left leg. I also live with the knowledge that I may need another surgery within the next ten years or so, as arthritic changes are still taking place in my neck. It took a lot of time for me to adjust to the fact that my body can no longer maintain the endurance that I used to have – however, what the experience HAS done is vastly increase the amount of determination that I have (even though I was already quite a determined gal!), and I entered into this new career knowing that it is only as limited as my imagination. Do I let my physical disabilities get me down? Well, sometimes, but it doesn't last for long. I have more important and positive things to think about! When I look at what I've accomplished in the last two years, I am amazed – and many have commended my perseverance toward building a new life and career for myself in spite of my daily battle with pain. They think I'm quite courageous! <G> This disability has changed my life – but in my opinion it has changed it for the better. I am more in tune with who I am, more accepting of people's limitations, and more determined than ever to succeed in a field that is along the lines of what I've always wanted to do. I commend both you and Jeffrey for your achievements….keep it going, guys! You're doing great! Another GIANT 🙂 Denise

>>This disability has changed my life – but in my opinion it has changed it for the better. ………. Its an ironic phenomena isn't it ? 🙂 It is at times humiliating , rape of sense of selfworth and simple dignity , however I've learned that the experiance forces you to face truth head on. It destroys you or developes you, its our choice. It also is a journey of one most of the time. Nice to hear from another GIANT 🙂 Daniel

Daniel, >> As for typing and spelling, do you REALLY believe that if he is disabled that he could NOT type or spell LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ?? << Of course, I bloody don't! He actually does better in that department than many others on the forum, and if you weren't so defensive about me trying to help him constructively, albeit with some sarcasm attached, you might see that 🙁

I however appologize to you, perhaps you did mean well, albeit hidden in " constructive sarcasm". Daniel

maybe I can sum up this whole unfortunate episode in a few lines and then avoid wasting any more forum space on it: 1) I have worked full-time with mentally and physically disabled people in the past (in England where I'm from originally) so I have a working knowledge of their point-of-view. A very precious experience. 2) I didn't know Jeffrey had CP, in fact thought he just had a strange sense of humour. Sometimes it's hard to tell in this text medium. 3) His disabilities aside, I will respond to him the same way I would to anyone else regarding tips, tricks and forum etiquette. Anything less would be a disservice to him. That's all I have to say.

He said he's got cerebral palsy and some brain damage from birth, plus he's hard of hearing and vision impaired if I remember correctly. He posted this after recieving lots of questions concerning his age, etc… cheers, John Tissavary (La Luna cie)

Martin – Jeffrey's mentioned in a few of his messages that he has CP. Dave

OK, let's say he does have CP, does that mean I should not try to put him straight on forum conventions?

Martin – of course not… you just asked who said he had CP. I didn't catch that your question was rhetorical. Dave
