AmiTCP Help

Dale,
Seeing as you know more about Amiga TCP/IP than most I'd like to pick your
brains 😉
I've just set up AmiTCP 2.2 on my A1200 with a Supra 14.4 Modem to use
with a company over here in the UK called Demon Internet, who are quite
well known. I'm using rhslip.device and during the AmiTCP installation,
it asks for the IP address for the SLIP device/interface, what should I
have entered here? – I used a made up IP address!
I have another problem; after dialing into their host (using JR-COmm or
Term 4.0), loging in with my domain name (in this case kms1) and telling
their server that I'm running a slip connection, I then quit the terminal
package (having set the modem to ignore DTR so it won't drop the line when
I quit) and run AmiTCP with the command Amitcp:bin/startnet as per the
instructions.
At this stage I get the normal messages as follows;
[CLI 1]
add host kms1.demon.co.uk: gateway localhost
add net default: gateway
[CLI 5]
then nothing, if I enter ftp, I'm asked for the address which I enter, it
then eventually times out with;
ftp: <ftp address>: Address resolution error
Interestingly, If I then drop the line and retry the ftp command, it
returns exactly the same error!
Sounds like AmiTCP is not connecting to the host? Have I done something
completely wrong?
Help! Will be appreciated 🙂
