#Animator Pro Quit Workin
6 messages in this thread
Just lately, when I tried to get into Animator Pro, I received a message saying
"System Halted" and my computer locked up. This happened immediately after I
typed "ANI". I even tried re-installing the program. Any ideas???

Did you change your config sys??
No. But…I have switched from QEMM to 386MAX, and I've upgraded from DOS 5.0
to 6.2 since I last used Ani.
Which version of AAPro are you using? Which version of 386MAX? There was a
problem with some versions of 386MAX and AAPro which might be fixed with the
update. I believe the workaround for that bug was to pretty much cripple the
386MAX benefits, like excluding A000-FFFF.
kelly,
With that version of 386MAX, I know you have to disable the DPMI compliance.
(This does not "cripple" the memory manager.)
If that doesn't solve the problem, then something else is confliting with the
software. Type REM in front of all the lines from your config.sys and
autoexec.bat except for files, buffers, prompt, and mouse. Then reboot. Go to
the ani directory and delete the file aa.cfg. Then try to start ani. It should
start with no problems. Now you will have to go back and put those lines back
in one at a tie until you identify which was causing the conflict. Then we can
decide what to do once we figure out what is conflicting.

OK, Thanks. . .I'll go try this immediately and let you know what the prognosis
is.
