3DS Applied – Contents

Hi Roger:
I'm using play80 – which doesn't work with every machine. Sometimes it hates
the graphics card, sometimes memory management.
You can view the animations (as mentioned in README.CD from 3DS or Ani Pro).
Sorry:
People do like your demo though, so other people are seeing it.
Cool.

Nancy….
I've been going through the book slowly in the last few days.. and I'm
really disappointed… not a single..Cooool…:-).. but seriously looks really
good we may adopt in our advanced 3DS courses. Just have to get through the
rest of the chapters…

Goodness you had me scared!
I read the first line and said "Darn! I want him to like the book. How can I
fix it? Its already published."
I'm glad you like it.
I have to say that I'm using it to structure some portions of my class – i.e.
the lighting tutorial and materials tutorial I walk people through. Maybe some
of the others.
But – then I say "OK, I'm going home now and you've 3 hours to do tutorial 8.
We've covered all the material in that tutorial, but I want you to practice. Be
creative."
Today I cut them loose and said "OK – now today is bug day. We made the spider
in class – you go make your own bug . . . " Everyone's screens keep looking
exactly alike – and I really want them to experiment more. The best class is
when you get a different result from each student and you can compare them . .
.
I try to teach 3D Studio like an art class – a single model but a dozen
interpretations
Thens you can say "OK – that worked because, that didn't work because."
Anyway – the book is a good augmenter of your own materials I think – and good
for lab classes. At least, that is what I had in mind.
