#Cutting 512 from 640

I'm trying to extract the middle 512×486 of a 640×480 flic; the middle 512×486 is the only part w/ images i.e. there is a black border around the images. I need a 512×486 Targa+ res. flic that contains this middle portion. Scaling in aniconv doesn't work. Cutting and pasting an animated cel won't keep color cycling palette changes from frame to frame. I've wasted a couple hours on this already, so I was hoping posting here might help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wade, If you had 3ds studio (?) i would create a 2d grid, assigned the flic to it as an animated texture map self illuminated , zoom in(with or without a camera) to the region you want and render with a 512 x 486 resolution with a medium or high pallete. jonas[adesk]

Thanks. I found a sol'n after I logged off. I reset screen to 512×486 and did a Join flic w/o Match size enabled. Then just deleted the first frame.

Wade, I just made a Flic with a color cycling pallete, clipped the animation as an animated cel, and repasted it. It maintained the color cyclyng from frame to frame with no problem. What happens when you try to do it that way? It worked fine for me.

I suspect you pasted the clip into the same frames from which you cut it; it already had the palette there. I found a sol'n. See reply to Jonas. Thanks.

FWIW (not dear FWIW, just plain old FWIW) I think whether a pasted anim-cel with color cycling still appears to cycle when pasted has to do with whether the F (Fit) button is on no? Jon Burleson

But when I used cycle draw to create a handwritten word (using the DRAW command) and played around with that, saving it as an ANIM CEL which cycled, the Fit didn't make any difference in pasting it with STREAM on. I was able to paste it without cycling provided the image started accummulating all in one frame. Nik

Yes but the palette must be correct first. I was trying to paste after a reset.

– CLIP the CEL – Save the CEL – Load the CEL as FLC – Save it as a FLC. Ed

I hadn't seen what you wrote when I answered the message. You'd need "FIT COLORS" set for the CEL, right? BTW, if you do a PICTURE CLEAR RENDER ALL, prior to repasting for example, the color cycling goes away.
