Gregory, The only utility that I can think of that saves images from the
command line of the current buffer would be the GSI command that runs under the
old version of Hires QFX. Will that do? How do I proceed from here?

If that works properly, then it's just the matter of writing a program to
increment the laser one frame. Throw the two into a batch file to rotoscope
images to your heart's content! I could probably write the laser step program
in an hour (don't laugh, Gus!) and then you'd just have to write a big batch
file. Do it once, and just re-use the same file each time with the proper
number of lines (to increment file names).
