Hmmmmmmmm-
Am thinking about trading in my sleepy 486 for a workstation. Have noticed
that Sun systems has been around for awhile, and Autodesk has worked with them
for years. Does anybody 'round here use a Sparkstation? If so, what operating
system do you use? Video? Do you run Acad, 3D Studio, and/or Animator Pro?
If so, any headaches?
I am doing initial investigation (haven't spent a penny, yet), and, being an
architect, everything hinges on whether a workstation (not necessarily Sun)
will really benefit me with Autodesk products, because I have faithfully been
using them for years.
Anyway, thanks in advance for anybody's time-
Joe
Joe,
3DS does not support Unix so a Sparkstation would only be good for ACAD and as
a server. You're best alternative at this time is to go with a Pentium and
Network.
