Hey…
My cutomer is bleeding on the floor. Why would the join / append not work on
one system, but then do it up on another? Are some updated drivers about, just
waiting for a download or two…? Can you help me, oh god of the PAR?

Assuming that you have the most recent PAR files (the first ones had a JOIN
bug), you should be fine.
Remember the way the PAR works internally. Each file must be contiguous. To
do a join to the last two files takes only a second. To join to the first file
on your disk can take a while, because it must physically move the files around
next to each other.
The other trick is to optimize the disk before doing a join.

Well, they're banning assault weapons. That should make a FAST dealer's life a
little safer… <g>
