#Font Prob in Modeler 3.5
7 messages in this thread
I've got a strange problem in the new Modeler. I've got a
VT4000/A4000-040 system with 18MB RAM. When I try to Generate Text
with certain fonts I get a requester that says:
"Internal buffers too small for requested operation."
There is no mention of "internal buffers" in the new 3.5 documentation.
(Some of the fonts that don't work are: Veracruz, Calgary, Abbess, Olnova
Bold-Ital, Acclamation – actually quite a few.)
Anyone experiencing this??
I get the same thing when using SDrill and Booleans to punch holes in
relatively simple things. Sounds like memory allocation for a data
buffer being too small. I faxed Tech Support (now that I know I'm
not alone), and will let you know what I hear.
Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried any Booleans yet, since I just
installed 3.5 the other day. Hope there's a fix since I'm gearing up
for several big projects.
Yep, I got the same error the other day. I thought maybe I was
freaking LW out with the Text Macro. I don't remmember hardly ever
crashing LW 3.0 but recently I've had a few Gurus :^( Unfortunately I
think this is the result of multi platform support, Hopefully Allens
not going to neglect our Amigas.
I talked to Stuart, and he told me this is a bug, perhaps introduced
with code addressing the dongle. He will fix and the fix will most
likely come in a patch… it will most likely be a little while so I
wouldn't call NewTek. The patch, I'm sure will be uploaded here when
it is ready.
NewTek called back Friday (this is quite a shock in itself!!!) and
said that the buffer problem was identified, and they were working on
it. No word yet on what the fix will be or how they're going to get
any changes out.
Thanks guys. I guess I'll have to go back to 3.1 to get my work done –
at least for the time being.
