I would like to know what and where the easy avialability is for
PasTex or AmigaTex. I downloaded TPP without realizing that it is a
front end processor for either of the above. Now I need one of the
above. Does anybody have suggestions on which text processor is
easier to use or better yet easily obtainable? How about any other
public domain word processors that are definitely worth their
download effort and cost? I would surely appreciate any advice on
the subject of word processors.

Some of the Tex stuff is on the Fred Fish disks. There are also several
text editors. I don't know if any wordprocessors that are freeware/PD.
I am pretty sure that UEdit and at least one derivative is present here on
the AmigaForums. Various version of Emacs and MicroEmacs are probably
present here also.
