I have to create and eggshell type of crack on an object. The crack has to be a radial outgoing crack and then it needs to fall to pieces. (similar to a crack in a windshield that gets bigger and then breaks apart.) I have tried explosion and a couple other things bit cannot get it right. Is there another IPAS routine to use or any suggections. I don't want to do the animation by hand in Ani or director would like to stay in 3d studio. Thanks Jerry

I believe my explode settings were similar to the tutorial example for a collapsing building due to demolition. BILL

JMH, Do it the old fashioned way, boolean-boy it. Increase mess complexity, copy it & then cut it up several times (the copies) If you use the same mapping on all pieces, the crack won't be visible. Used this on a sink-hole accident. Still amazes me to see the concrete split. Rick Lapidus

Mess or mess? Depends on the project!! I think it's usually mess though. <g> Brent Bonet – POP! Multimedia Atlanta
