#PAR Sound Add-on?
6 messages in this thread
I remember reading a post a few months ago regarding a PAR sound
add-on/daughterboard.
Is anyone familiar with this product? When will it be available? Who
manufactures it?
Thanks!
Scott Lawrence
DPS is soon coming out with a windows sound driver that will match animation
with your PAR output on video. It uses your regular sound card like a sound
blaster. Strictly a software solution.
Don:
Thanks for the info (sounds like a compromise to me).

Don,

What exactly do you mean when you say "match"? Will this be an accurate sync
or just a convenient way to output random sound to tape along w/ animation?
When will this driver be available?
Thanks,
Scott Lawrence
I saw a demo of it at siggraph. I now have it and it is downloadable from the
harware section of this forum. I haven't had the time to install it yet as
I've been up against some unbelievable deadlines in video post production. I
just take time out to check E-mail and grab a bite to eat. Been that way for
the past 2 weeks.
From what I understand you will be able to trigger the *.wav file with the PAR
*.ani file from a windows driver. Using this windows PAR driver with sound
capability and some additional sound editing software (NOT DPS) you will be
able to create audio edited piece that will run in sync with the PAR *.ani
file. There is no actual sync link just a synced starting point which should
be good for short runs. The *.wav is still on your regular HD and the *.ani
file is exclusive from the PAR drive.
Thanks for the information, Don!
