#Lost Topic Pages
4 messages in this thread
I was attempting to store my class rosters on individual Topic Pages, headed
under another Topic Page called Class Roster. Thus, I have one Topic Page
entry that reads Class Roster, and double-clicking on that brings up three more
topic pages. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. Double clicking on
Class Rosters doesn't do anything, and one of the class rosters seems to be
missing, anyway. When I do a Find for a name that appears on the missing
roster, the name appears on the picklist, but clicking on Select or double
clicking on the name does nothing. What happened?

There has been a problem related to topic pages that occurs completly at
random. This will be fixed in 4.2. If a topic page is missing try and locate
the page by selecting Find/Exact or Show/Topics….. if you can get to the page
this way then select Page/Gather and move all of the entries to another page
temporarily (perhaps Z). Delete the topic and add it again using a different
name. Then gather all of the names and put them back in. Another way to
recover the pages is to restore from a previous backup.
When using topic pages after you have had this problem I would reccommend that
you keep regular backups and a clone or copy of the data in your topic pages
somewhere else (i.e. another book or another page).
If you are sending me a backup for your Quattro export I will look into this
also.

I am sending the backup copies – it took two disks! To see the problem, try
searching for the name "Willie Smith." It shows in the name list, but
selecting it gets you nowhere. I am looking for a Topic Page called "PL120 –
Class Roster."
Dear Tim:
We'll look for the diskettes.
