Video Post BRIGHT!
5 messages in this thread
I'm having a problem with a rendering I'm doing. If I render a scene in the
keyframer it has the correct lighting, but if I choose Video Post the scene is
VERY bright and washed out. I have a couple of lens flares in the scene but I
have set the parameters to NOT affect the scene brightness. What could possibly
be causing this discrepancy?

Sounds like too-high gamma.

I had both gamma settings set to the same value(Display and frame buffer) I use
an ATI 64. What controls the Video Post Gamma level? Both boxes were matched
up in the gamma control setting, but like I said, In the keyframer using
render/render view it was fine. But, using Video Post the scene was extremely
bright and washed out. Are they Independantly controlled? Again any help would
be appreciated.

The VP output gamma level is primarily set by the File Gamma (for image files)
and Display/FB Gamma (for the screen) — but if you're using a bitmap layer in
VP, there's an additional Gamma override for that layer.
The most direct way for you to get help on this would be for you to come up
with a reproducible case, zip up the .prj file with a text file explaining what
your problem is, and send it via binary email to Brian Rudolph to look at.
