Initially, I am interested in sending full-color renderings, (similar to a 24 bit targa file). But, hidden line plots sound great too! If you have more information, please fill me in. By the way, who/what is "Syndesis"?

What's an HP650c? Is it a color ink jet? Syndesis Corporation makes InterChange, a program that translates between many different 3D file formats.

Yep. It's HP's top-o-the-line color inkjet plotter (w/ optional Postscript level 2 interface). We're demoing one now. Really nice 3DS output (using Photostyler). Dave

In more CAD-like programs, you can load a 3D model, move to a perspective viewpoint, then "render" the drawing as a series of lines, removing any "hidden lines" that are obscured by other parts of the model, then send the visible lines to a old-style plotter for a real-world high-res drawing of the model. This has advantages over enlarging a bitmap to the size you want…

Joe, Please call 1-800-825-4115 and ask about our RenderPrint software. Great support for the DJ650's. Supports GIF, TGA, PCX, BMP, JPG, and TIF file formats. Also supports over 1400 other printers as well. Runs as a stnadalone, a TSR (pop-up), or as an Autodesk ADI 4.2 direct driver. Does NOT require any extra memory in the printer or computer. Does NOT require Postscript. Print full color 300 dpi 'E' size poster plots on a standard 4mb DJ650c. Russ Insight Development
