Hilary, What rev chips are on the GVP controller card? And what software are you using with the GVP prep disk? ————- —— ——- | | | | | |————-| |——–| | | | | | | |————-| |——–| _ _ | | |____| |_____| ————| controller ribbon unterm terminated card cable device 1 device 2 Either device in either order (tape/disk disk/tape) last device must be the terminated device. You cannot hook them up like this: ______ _____________________ ________ | | | | | | | |————–| |——-| | | | | | | | | _ _|————–| |——-| _ _ | | | | | | | |____| |___________________| |______| term or term or unterm controller unterm device 1 card device 2 The cable MUST dasiy chain. On some of the very old GVP controller cards the first device had to be unit 0 on the LUN chain. Which is why I'm asking about the rev of the GVP card and disks. Again check that the controller card is one terminated end of the dasiy chain and that a terminated device is at the other END of the dasiy chain. I'll try to get the specs for the Wangtek and the Maxtor from the manufacturers and see what else I can find out. Clark -|- Williams –O-o-O– Via George
