#hardcopy hp650c
4 messages in this thread
just got the 650c.
set printer-number to 2
set rhpadi= c:\acad\drv\hpgl2\rhprtl.exp
added hpgl2 to path
took the semicolon from in front of the default-hardcopy line in 3ds.set.
but
…no setup questions asked like it says on pg 90 in installation guide
instead starts rendering FOR 70 MINUTES, and the image is sent to the ether or
arcturus.
so, what am I missing y'all?
thanks
Forrest:
For printing 3DS images it is most common to use a Windows Image/Paint package
to print them to your plotter. For the 650c I use the shareware package Paint
Shop Pro. You can also use a RIP like RenderPrint, Image Alchemy (DOS) or
RIPware.

Forrest, The RHPADI driver is for AutoCAD not 3DS. It won't work. Instead
install the Windows drivers that should've also come with the plotter and print
from any WIndows app. Corel Draw works well and the newest version is said to
be able to handle any size output. It used to be limited to 30"x30".

Forrest – I agree with the others. Render to file, and then use a program that
is dedicated for output to get your results. If you are attempting to plot
large images, you can use programs such as Photoshop under Windows. If you are
looking for high quality dithering for that photo-quality appearance, Onyx
Imagej (SRP $5000+/-) does an incredible job.
