Did I m4 S12/Take 5/Want Ads 06-Aug-95 02:57:33 Hi, everybody, I guess lot of you out there have heard of the upcoming World Builder by Digimation. I've read many articals about it, yes, I admit, it's very attractive, and very powerful. It's a new generation of terrain builder. But, the $1000 price tag is crazy! I use vista pro myself, while it can't compare to World Builder, but it satisfies most of the freelancers' needs out there. Personally, I think Digimaion made a wrong move. This piece of software is worth its price tag, but the quesion is, how many people out there really need it? How many will they sell? This reminds me of Penello, when it came out, it's $1000 also. It's great, but no many people really needs this effect. Now look at Penello again, they had to lower the price down to under $400!!! As a matter of fact, according to a servay, most of the freelancers say that they will not pay more than $400 for a single IPAS. Vista Pro, and Bruce both offers enough capabilities, yet they are all around $100. Don't you think for $1000, Digimation should make a ultra advanced package, yet very very useful? I will never buy the World Builder unless it's price is lower by half (which I will certainlly see in half a year). But, if Digimation come out with a World Human Body Generator for $1000, I will certainly consider it!!! Imagine a complete genetor, that creates human body, you can contro over weight, skin color, toughness, hair type, age, nose…… Plus, a library of many usefull facial expressions!!!!!! Now this will be as advanced as the World Terrain Builder, yet much much more usefull for all of us!!!! The bottom line is, you should always make something so everybody can offord, this way, you will sell, and make money. I'm sure we don't want to follow Penello's mistake. IF, you make something expensive, make it very usefull, and worth every penny, this way, people will buy it, and you will make money.
